Alter Ego

Bustling crowd awaits a clash,
Anxious foes of progeny,
Become opponents on stage,
Spotting objects of their feud.

Contest begins with a catch,
First to stop accepts defeat,
Dulcet symphonies ablaze,
Fierce scarlet battle assumed.

Both unwilling to attack,
wink to sync the frenzied breeze,
Flute notes chase violin sways,
Two champs in union conclude.

*This poem has been written using the traditional Welsh and Cornish short poetry form called Englyn, in which patterns of syllables and rhyme or half rhyme are decided depending on various forms. This particular form of Englyn used here contains three quatrains(verses of four lines) with seven syllables in each line. The lines use near rhymes instead of exact rhymes. I have used the abcd abcd abcd near rhyme scheme.*
