Silver Streak

Verse 1:

Floating in deep blue oceans
my dreams struggle to reap
I am haunted by gloomy strums
echoing in my broken sleep

Verse 2:

Burning shadows rage in hollows
wailing to the darkness of night
my heart pierced by blazing agony
Oh! My eyes look for a light

  Chorus:

I hold on to a thread of hope
when my spirit seems too weak
a soothing breeze in fiery storms
   uplifts my courage so bleak
In roaring thunderstorms I see
black clouds fade in silver streak
And it gleams my faint waves
hope simmers to reach a blessed peak

Verse 3:

Nightmares of buried doubts
chilling the marrow in bones
smoke rises to shape silence
falling in water like stones

Verse 4:

Unfolding vermilion scars of past
pulled me down all these years
I've learnt to drown with them
borders beyond my dry tears

Chorus:

I hold on to a thread of hope
when my spirit seems too weak
a soothing breeze in fiery storms
  uplifts my courage so bleak
In roaring thunderstorms I see
black clouds fade in silver streak
And it gleams my faint waves
hope simmers to reach a blessed peak

Bridge:

Hope it is that lights my path
Hope it was that led my journey
Hope it will be that stays again
tearing dark clouds till eternity
to unleash a silver lining I believe

Chorus:

I hold on to a thread of hope
  when my spirit seems weak
(Fading fears melt in gleaming hopes)
a soothing breeze in fiery storms
  uplifts my courage so bleak
(black clouds fade in silver streak)
In roaring thunderstorms I see
black clouds fade in silver streak
(hope simmers to reach a blessed peak)
And it gleams my faint waves
hope simmers to reach a blessed peak
(my hope is a gleaming silver streak)

my hope is a gleaming silver streak...

     (Until chorus fades)

*This is a lyric form poetry of song-like quality, originated in ancient Greek Literature. A Lyric is a type of poem in which the expression is much more personal and tends to show more feeling or emotion throughout the piece. It is often a more formal type of poetry when it is read and written as well, typically spoken in the first person (I/me). There are also many different meters that can be used to express a lyric, or even a combination of meters as well. Even further, many will recognize a lyric within songs and music.*
